Mr. Mike Sturgill, a Founding Partner at Themis Legal Group, focuses on probate and estate planning, real estate, family law, and litigation. He graduated from The University of Texas at Arlington with a degree in International Business and a minor in Spanish, and earned his Juris Doctor from Southern Methodist Dedman School of Law in 2012. Mike began his legal career at an oil and gas firm, gaining experience in property rights and ownership interests, and later honed his litigation skills at a litigation firm. He has successfully represented clients in various civil disputes, including divorce, child custody, debt claims, and ADA claims. Mike’s extensive experience in estate planning and probate has helped hundreds of clients secure their estates, and he spends much of his time in the courtroom, representing clients in hearings, motions, and trials.

Philip, a Founding Partner, focuses on civil litigation and family law. He graduated from Southern Methodist University with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and earned his Juris Doctor from Baylor University School of Law in 1997. Philip began his career at the Dallas County District Attorney’s Office as an Assistant District Attorney, prosecuting over 70 jury trials and honing his trial skills. He then moved into insurance defense and commercial litigation, gaining extensive experience in depositions, complex motions, and jury trials across Texas. Philip’s diverse background provides a robust foundation for his practice in civil litigation and family law.

Nick is a Litigation Attorney specializing in civil litigation, real estate, contract law, and family law. He graduated from Southern Methodist University with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and earned his Juris Doctor from Texas Wesleyan School of Law in 1994. Since founding his own law firm in 1995, Nick has gained extensive experience in real estate transactions, title, and litigation. He has also represented clients in family law, commercial real estate, personal injury, and criminal matters. With over 20 years of practice, Nick continues to provide quality legal representation and brings his wealth of experience to Themis.

Duncan, an Of Counsel Attorney, specializes in estate planning and probate. A South Texas College of Law graduate, he began his career as an Associate at the Sadler Law Firm in Houston, Texas, where he gained valuable experience in real property, oil and gas, and property rights. Duncan later transitioned to his own practice, focusing on real estate, landlord/tenant issues, and property disputes, further honing his expertise in estate planning and probate.

 

Elizabeth, an Of Counsel Attorney, focuses on family law. She earned her Juris Doctorate from Texas Southern University in 2014 and is admitted to practice in the State of Texas and Federal Court in the Texas Southern District. After years in the public sector, she transitioned to private practice in 2017, bringing extensive experience in resolving disputes efficiently across Texas. Elizabeth has dedicated her career to assisting families and individuals with divorce, custody proceedings, and other family matters, and also has experience in criminal law and civil litigation. She provides valuable knowledge and peace of mind to her clients facing family law challenges.

Melissa, an Of Counsel Attorney, focuses on family law and estate planning. She completed her undergraduate studies at the College of the Holy Cross and graduated from Gonzaga University School of Law in 1998. Melissa began her career as an Assistant District Attorney in the Collin County District Attorney’s Office and has since gained extensive experience in general civil litigation, including real estate, landlord/tenant, contracts, property line disputes, wills, and Deceptive Trade Practice Act matters. In 2023, she expanded her practice to include mediation services, bringing a comprehensive approach to her clients’ legal needs.

Jasmine is a passionate family law attorney delivering sound advice and zealous advocacy. With experience at the Texas Advocacy Project, Travis County District Attorney’s Office, and in private practice, she excels in handling complex property and child issues. Recognized as a 2024 “Best Lawyers-Ones to Watch” and “Rising Star,” Jasmine customizes strategies to meet her clients’ needs, ensuring their peace of mind during life transitions.
